Michael Sanchez is a third year Computer Science major in the College of Computer and Information Science and Engineering. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration from UF while residing at Corry Village, a Graduate & Family Housing community. He has been an active member of Mayors’ Council since 2016 and has participated in the many events that Mayors’ Council and Graduate and Family Housing has offered throughout the years. He is excited to have the opportunity to continue to serve on Mayors’ Council and promote an enjoyable experience amongst residents of Graduate & Family Housing villages. Go Gators!

Hi, I did my B.Sc. in computational chemistry from University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. in chemistry at the University of Florida. I joined UF in fall 2015 and since then living at Maguire village. I enjoy living on this wonderful campus. I chose to live at graduate family housing because I enjoy meeting people from all around the world and I like to learn about different cultures. I am a proud Gator and I really enjoy doing my part to the gator society. Therefore, being the mayor of Maguire village, I try to help my fellow Gators to enjoy the swamp life!

Kavindri Ranasinghe is a Ph.D. student in Physical Chemistry at University of Florida, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Computational Chemistry from the University of Colombo, at her home country Sri Lanka. Her undergraduate life had opened the path not only to gain a sound knowledge in scientific disciplines; it also gave her the privilege to involve in various leadership positions at professional student chapters. She joined UF in Fall 2016 and has been an active member of the Maguire Village community since then. Kavindri believes living in an internationally diverse community allow the residents to connect with people from different perspectives and views, make new relationships, learn about other cultures introducing their own, and most importantly provide a priceless chance to enjoy the busy work-life in grad school. She feels privileged to be serving as the treasurer of the Mayors’ Council and expects that this role will provides her the opportunity to contribute in making the graduate and family housing a vibrant, collaborative place that students and families can call home.

Jason Fraser-Nash is the Assistant Director of Housing for Graduate and Family Housing and Advisor for Mayors’ Council. Born and raised in California; Jason earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. He earned his Master’s of Education here at the University of Florida. Jason has worked in Graduate and Family Housing since 2011.
